Kilim from the Qashqai tribe of southern Iran. This vintage kilim was handwoven by a nomadic or village woman, using her own hand-spun and carded wool.
The weaver of this rug has been improvising both in the design and in the repertoire of colors as she weaves, so the kilim is not symmetrical. A nice and colorful piece. It is a strong kilim that will hold up well in a high traffic area.
Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool
Size: 226×139 cms
Origin: Shiraz, Iran
Date of weaving: 1950s
