Semi-antique rug from the Taimani Baluch tribe of Afghanistan that combines undyed natural wool in the central field with dyed wool for the multiple edges that frame the center of the rug. The irregularity of the motifs create the optical sensation that in this rug the motifs float in the center and on the edges. Two of the ends are topped with elaborate kilims. Soft and long wool.

The Baloch or Baluch are an Iranian people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, located at the southeasternmost edge of the Iranian plateau, encompassing the countries of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. There are also Baloch diaspora communities in neighbouring regions, including in India, Turkmenistan and the Arabian Peninsula.
