The Baloch or Baluch are an Iranian people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, located at the southeasternmost edge of the Iranian plateau, encompassing the countries of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. There are also Baloch diaspora communities in neighbouring regions, including in India, Turkmenistan and the Arabian Peninsula.

This semi-antique rug from the Baluch tribe is woven from soft, probably camel wool. This rug combines geometric motifs with plant motifs. One of the borders is formed by eight-pointed stars and the other by plant motifs of shrubs or small trees. Two of the ends are finished with the kilim technique.

Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool   and probably camel wool
