This 1950s semi-antique Baluch rug has a wonderful balance of natural, undyed wool in shades of ivory, brown, and beige, combined with delicate details in very soft, muted colours.
The main field is decorated with a geometric grid that covers the entire surface of the rug. Scattered throughout the design are delicate touches of soft pink, grey, lilac, and maroon, all in wonderfully subtle tones. The colours are arranged in an apparently random way, giving the rug a relaxed and understated character. The same palette is echoed in the border, creating a harmonious connection between the field and the surrounding design.
The pile is thick and plush, making it particularly comfortable to walk on barefoot.
