Koldobika Jauregi, “Gernika”.
Woven in Nepal with Tibetan hand spun wool. 100 knots per square inch.

To commemorate the 75th aniversary of the Gernika bombing we commisioned the famous Basque sculptor, Koldobika Jauregi, to design a carpet. Our only request was that it should be in the same size as Picasso´s Guernica. It took ten months to weave it in Nepal using the best quality Tibetan wool. In this carpet Koldobika Jauregi has combined oriental elements with Basque rural images and references to Goya and Picasso. It is a one off carpet with an ideal size for your chateau or your loft! Previously displayed in San Telmo Museum, it now in our shop.

The size is 773×353 cms.
