Antique Afghan rug in a very unusual range of colours, including green/turquoise blue, fuchsia and a deep ocher background. The sheep’s wool is soft and shiny, and goat’s wool has been used to finish the edges. The weaver has woven geometric motifs and has included some animals. An interesting piece.

There are also Baloch diaspora communities in neighbouring regions, including in India, Turkmenistan and the Arabian Peninsula.
