This semi-antique Baluch rug features a striking and highly unusual navy-blue field, paired with an equally distinctive design. Four oversized, elongated medallion-like motifs dominate the composition, creating a bold and elegant visual impact. The upper two medallions display beautiful abrash—the natural variation in dye that produces subtle colour changes across the blue field.
The field is framed by three borders. Two matching borders are woven in natural undyed ivory wool, while the third features a charming tree-and-branch motif, providing an attractive contrast. The brown details throughout the rug are also woven with natural undyed brown wool.
The wool is of exceptional quality—soft to the touch, lustrous, and beautifully reflective. Although the pile is lower in some areas, as expected for a rug of this age, the foundation remains strong and structurally sound.
Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool
