Looking for a very thick kilim? Look no further. Weighing nearly 5 kilos, this sturdy vintage Qashqai kilim is hard to beat—perfect for high-traffic areas.

Originally woven as a large mule bag (sac), this piece has been carefully opened out for use as a floor rug. Traditionally, the plain half would have formed the back of the bag, while the more decorative side was meant to be seen. The plain section is woven in deep blues and blacks, featuring beautiful natural colour variations known as abrash.

The decorative front is woven using the complementary weft weave technique, while the plain, dark blue side is done in plainweave. Now fully transformed into a kilim, adding even more character to any space of your home.
