Antique Rare Baluch Pillow with Silk Highlights
Discover this very rare and collectible Baluch pillow, a standout piece featuring exquisite wool and silk highlights.
The front of the pillow showcases a beautiful design where the yellow, purple, and orange threads are woven with fine silk, adding a luxurious sheen. The decorative pom-poms on the front are also crafted from silk, complementing the finely spun wool used throughout.
The back of the cushion is woven with simple stripes, providing a subtle contrast, yet it’s also charmingly decorated with cheerful silk pom-poms.
In the lower part of the pillow, opposite the opening, there were likely long tassels that have since been cut. This piece’s fine craftsmanship, use of top-quality materials, and natural dyes suggest it was once a treasured possession for its weaver or owner.
This unique Baluch pillow is in very good condition, including all its delicate silk decorations, making it a truly special addition to any collection.
