A finely woven new Qashqai rug featuring two large medallions, each containing the traditional emblem of the Qashqai tribe. The field is richly decorated with stylized vegetal and botanical motifs, along with several schematically rendered goats. As a charming detail, the weaver has also included a few remarkably lifelike rabbits, adding a delightful touch of whimsy to the composition.
Its size makes it particularly well suited beside a bed or in a short hallway. The rug is exceptionally well constructed, with a high knot count and a dense, tightly woven structure, making it a durable piece designed to last for decades, even in areas with heavy foot traffic.
Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool

Turkic-speaking pastoral nomadic tribal groups began entering central and southern Iran during the eleventh and twelfth centuries. The Qashqai, as a large tribal unit, dates back at least to the early eighteenth century, when some Turkish(Turki)-speaking tribal groups in the region existed under the name Qashqai.
Qashqai kilims are best known for their boldness and freedom in the way the pattern is drawn. An aesthetically pleasing geometry, the fineness of their wool and their clear, strong colours combine to ensure their reputation as superlative examples.
