An elegant antique Baluch runner featuring a rich, earthy colour palette. This understated yet refined kilim is designed with alternating bands, some intentionally left undecorated while others display finely woven miniature motifs that showcase the skill of the weaver.
All the dyes used in this piece are natural, including a beautiful greenish-blue tone that is typically found only in older Baluch weavings. The use of this rare and costly dye, together with the exceptionally fine, lustrous wool and the delicate quality of the spinning, suggests that this kilim was highly valued by its weaver and by the generations of owners who preserved it.
Presented in mint condition, this is a remarkable example of Baluch tribal weaving, combining simplicity and elegance.
Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool
