A vintage Baluch rug from Afghanistan featuring a central field structured by a grid in which a repeating pattern has been carefully woven. The symmetrical main field, executed in a restrained colour palette, creates a calm and balanced composition that contrasts beautifully with the more vibrant and lively main border, decorated with striking eight-pointed star motifs.
The wool is soft, lustrous and beautifully glossy, giving the rug a rich texture and subtle sheen that enhances its depth and character.
Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool
Size: 197×135 cms
Origin: Baluch tribe from Afghanistan
Date of weaving: 1970s
