North West Persian Kurdish Rug
A North West Persian Kurdish rug featuring an oversized design with a large octagon placed in each corner. The central field contains smaller secondary motifs, creating a structured yet lively arrangement.
While the composition appears orderly, closer inspection reveals gentle colour variations, minor asymmetries, and elements of tribal improvisation—characteristic of Kurdish village weaving. The pile is long, soft, and resilient, woven with lustrous local wool.
The rug is in excellent, original condition, with intact fringes and preserved knotted ends. All dyes are natural, producing a balanced palette with subtle tonal shifts.
