Unusual Square-Shaped Persian Qashqai Kilim
This distinctive Persian Qashqai kilim stands out for its uncommon, nearly square shape—perfect for versatile placement. The design features a series of vertically interlocked medallions, forming three distinct columns set against a rich, deep red background. Two small motifs fill the upper section of the field, adding a touch of detail and mistery.
Woven with thick, durable wool, this is a solid and weighty kilim—an excellent choice for high-traffic areas. Its practical size and bold design make it both functional and decorative.

Turkic-speaking pastoral nomadic tribal groups began entering central and southern Iran during the eleventh and twelfth centuries. The Qashqai, as a large tribal unit, dates back at least to the early eighteenth century, when some Turkish(Turki)-speaking tribal groups in the region existed under the name Qashqai.
Qashqai kilims are best known for their boldness and freedom in the way the pattern is drawn. An aesthetically pleasing geometry, the fineness of their wool and their clear, strong colours combine to ensure their reputation as superlative examples.
