Kilim from the Qashqai tribe of southern Iran. This vintage kilim was handwoven by a nomadic or village woman, using her own hand-spun and carded wool. The bottom of this kilim is woven with undyed natural wool, on which three large medallions have been arranged, surrounded by smaller ones. The border is most likely not hearts, but the number 5 in Persian (۵). The fringes are the originals and are intact.
