Kilim from the Qashqai tribe of southern Iran. This vintage kilim was handwoven by a nomadic or village woman, using her own hand-spun and carded wool. The wool has been spun very finely, thus achieving a kilim with a very dense warp and weft and a very defined design.
The composition is very elegant, and both the maroon background and the green border have a nice “abrash” or color changes.
